Catch a Cheating Spouse – Red Flags That Jump Right Out at You

You have seen it happen to your friends, now you have suspicions your spouse is cheating on you. How sure are you? Fortunately for you, there are signs of a cheating spouse that will stop them in their tracks. With these red flags, you can easily determine if your spouse is cheating on you.

People are predictable.

When we are entering into a new relationship, we react differently – suddenly everything is about them. Each partner wants to do what it takes to impress and please the other person. If your spouse is cheating on you, it it likely that you will notice changes to wardrobe choices, different cologne/perfume, a healthier outlook, even a hair style change. All of these on their own usually are nothing to worry about, but when they all seem to happen at once – alarms should be going off. This is particularly easy to spot with spouses that NEVER want to change.

The body can only take so much.

If you are dealing with a cheating spouse, you might as well admit that there is more than plain chit-chat going on. Usually an affair involves a sexual component and when your spouse is getting it somewhere else, they are going to be less likely to want it from you. If the intimate time with your spouse is lacking, it could be due to their dirty little secret. They are putting so much energy and time into the affair that 1) there is no energy left for you, and 2) you are no longer the center of their world, so why be intimate? More lame excuses will pop up – headaches, over tired, busy with work. It may just be stress related with finances or the job, so be careful not to judge. Usually stress smothers a person, but if you see they are just fine other than in the bedroom, it might be more than plain stress.

Paranoia sets in.

If your spouse is cheating on you, unless they are mentally “blind”, they likely know they are up to no good. They are cautious in everything they do so as not to tip you off. They feel that eyes are on them with everything they say and do. If your spouse reacts to simple questions in an anxious way, it might be they are hiding something. Usually this is accompanied by defensiveness as well. There is an unconscious expectation that they need to justify themselves to you. They are on edge, distracted and will do what it takes to avoid slipping up. This is easy to spot especially in someone that usually is laid back. However, any spouse that is cheating is going to be on high alert, and this change in character should be easy to see.
