So many relationships crumble because of infidelity. I am sure you know of one or two friends that have gone through it. It makes you wonder: how safe is your relationship? If you have doubts and suspect your spouse might be cheating on you, do you know what to look for? Here are some clear indicators that can help identify a cheating spouse.

Your spouse comes home one day and is sporting a new hair style. You also notice a different cologne or perfume. It makes you wonder what is up. Unfortunately, these could be signs of a cheating spouse. They are under the influence of this new lover and giving them what they want or desire. New relationships are all about pleasing each other. A person who might not normally dress or act a certain way suddenly is.

Being apart for any length of time is very difficult in the beginning stages of a new relationship. Most of the time we spend daydreaming about the other person, lost in thought and only desire one thing: to be with them as soon as possible. If your spouse seems “somewhere out there” and distracted, it might be a secret love affair. They probably will want to spend more time alone, show little desire to get involved with you, even as far as to affect your sex life together. When something (or in this case, someone) is on our minds, it is easy to disregard everything and everyone around.

Another sign of a cheating spouse is the paranoia and defensiveness. If they are cheating, then they are keeping a secret from you. In turn, they are overly careful not to reveal anything and will be more on edge than normal. This can lead to being overly anxious and paranoid. They may question things more, such as who was on the phone, or where you are going. As well, if you happen to ask them a simple and innocent question, they might come back with a defensive response – almost like they feel they are being interrogated. If you spouse jumps when the phone rings or questions even the most basic aspects of your day, it could be they are hiding a dirty little secret.
